Who we are
We’re a young married couple living in Australia, blessed to be surrounded by family, friends and many children. Through firsthand experience — both working as a paramedic and being the go-to person for friends seeking first aid advice — we realised there was no easily accessible emergency first aid guide designed specifically to help children in life-threatening situations.
So we created one.
Over the past year we’ve spent countless hours carefully writing, consulting with emergency professionals, and refining every step to produce CriticalCalm’s Emergency Home Guide. Our goal was simple: provide clear, practical guidance so that anyone can know the steps to save little lives.
Why our guide
When a child experiences a medical emergency, it can feel overwhelming. In moments of high stress, even those with first aid training may struggle to remember what to do. The CriticalCalm Emergency Home Guide is designed to support you in these life-threatening emergencies, providing clear, step-by-step instructions so you can act with confidence.
The topics included in this booklet have been carefully chosen because they cover common childhood emergencies where practical action can be taken. The guide clearly explains when to call an ambulance and what to do while waiting for them to arrive. Throughout the booklet, you’ll also find QR codes linking to short explainer videos that demonstrate essential skills in more detail.
Our hope is to equip you and your family to provide care and remain calm in critical situations.
